Jatoba and Cherry Wood U.S. Postal Bank

Dimensions -- 7 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches deep and 4 inches wide

This unique contrast and beauty of natural light and dark woods make this special.  Made from Jatoba on the back and sides - Cherry wood on the top, bottom and front with a tight grain pattern.

There is labor intensive work done on the finish. I achieve this finish through different sanding processes from 60 grit sanding to 600 grit sanding. I then steel wool the grain to achieve a super slick feel to the grain and sheen to the wood.  Finish - Hand Rub with oil and urethane.  Edges are square.

The construction of the boxes themselves is rabbit joint and glued.

They are antique in nature - U.S. Postal Service Door taken out of service and is roughly 40 - 50 years old.  The door is a #1 Corban P85 key lock; combination C1, M1 - lock box # 3942.
