Cedar Wood U.S. Postal Bank
Dimensions -- 7 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches deep and 4 inches wide
Beautiful wood is made of solid Cedar with side ways grain patter.
There is labor intensive work done on the finish. I achieve this finish through different sanding processes from 60 grit sanding to 600 grit sanding. I then steel wool the grain to achieve a super slick feel to the grain and sheen to the wood. Finish - Hand Rub with oil and urethane. Edges have bold rounded corners all the way around this bank.
The construction of the boxes themselves is rabbit joint and glued.
They are antique in nature - U.S. Postal Service Door taken out of service and is roughly 40 - 50 years old. The door is a #1 Corban P85 key lock; combination G1, P3 - lock box # 4426.
